The Yamhill County Assessment & Taxation Department is seeking a Property Appraiser to join their team.  The goal is to fill this position with the most competitive candidate as a Property Appraiser I or Property Appraiser II based on the successful candidate's level of experience.  
The Qualifications
The position requires a high school diploma or GED and Oregon State Certification in addition to three to five years of experience. A bachelor's degree in real estate, business, public administration, or related field is preferred. An associate's degree in real estate with emphasis in appraisal or a related field with experience may be accepted. Appraiser certification is required within 6 months of hire.  A valid license to drive in Oregon is required in addition to an acceptable driving record as driving is required for this position.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be computer literate and proficient Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.  They will have excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.  They must be self-directed and detail-oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with co-workers and members of the public in a courteous, professional manner.  Standing for several hours or traversing over uneven terrain and hillsides may be required at times to perform this job.  Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this classification with or without accommodation.

The Appraisal Division Manager with Washington County will direct all activities of the Appraisal Division including residential, commercial, industrial, personal property and farm property appraisal programs, and will manage the annual reappraisal plans and sales ratio studies. They will also be responsible for coordinating all appraisal activities with other County divisions and departments. Requirements
